Day 4 – PSC 4: Mindfulness
SSSTOPPPP – When mindfulness becomes practical for leaders
Hello? Are you here? Still with me? If you zoned out after the third notification, that’s okay. That’s exactly the problem.
In a world flooded with information, developing PSC 4 – self-awareness – has never been more strategic.
Not to “recentre” in an abstract way, but to regain control over what you feel, what you experience, and what you decide.
Being present to yourself: a challenge for leaders
The human brain processes about 11 million pieces of information per second. Yours, mine, your team’s.
But multitasking doesn’t mean being present. Most of the time, our minds are elsewhere: caught between urgencies, projections, automatic judgments. That’s where communication errors, impulsive reactions, and hasty decisions take root.
Self-awareness is not “disconnecting from the world”
PSC 4 isn’t about escaping. It’s about reconnecting with yourself in the midst of action, with clarity. It’s about knowing:
- What you’re truly feeling (emotions, tension, subtle signals)
- What you’re sensing (sounds, images, rhythm)
- What you need to regulate before acting
👉 It’s an essential “well-being skill” for leaders. 👉 And above all, it’s a lever for impact on the collective.
Why I created SSSTOPPPP
Because formal meditation isn’t always realistic for leaders under pressure. Yet the goal is the same: slow down to move forward better.
SSSTOPPPP is a 5-minute, structured, mobile, and embodied exercise — an emotional regulation tool inspired by PSC 4 and neuroscience, which helps you:
- Reconnect with your body
- Notice what’s overwhelming you
- Choose how you want to respond
- Take back control of your day (or your meeting)
Want to try it?
🧠 The full protocol is here → Link to the SSSTOPPPP exercise
And if you only have 2 minutes today: Stop. Breathe. Ask yourself: How do I feel? How do I want to feel? What can I do to switch? You’ve just started developing PSC 4.
Tomorrow: PSC 5 – The Ability to Control Impulses. Does that speak to you about losing your temper over nothing?
Otherwise, if you want to take stock, book a session with me to create the right conditions to live and develop a leadership that’s both effective and balanced.
Warm regards,
Krumma
