21 days - 21 Competencies - PSC 1 Self-knowledge

Day 1: Self-knowledge, the first competency to build up

You want to succeed without burning out!

Start here. Not tomorrow. Not when things calm down. Now.

👉 Self-knowledge is the first of the 21 psychosocial competencies. It's the foundation. Without it, everything else is fragile.

What does that mean in practice? It's being able to answer, without dodging, these 5 questions:

  1. What are my strengths (not the ones expected of me)?
  2. What are my current limits (not the ones from 5 years ago)?
  3. What is non-negotiable for me?
  4. What are my real goals, not the ones I keep rehashing to seem legitimate?
  5. What is my inner dialogue when no one is listening?

Why is it vital? Whether you're a manager or not, you're in charge of yourself. And your energy, your time, your brain and your mental health are your strategic resources. A leader without self-knowledge: makes decisions that are out of step, burns out from constantly compensating, adapts to everything except themselves.

Micro-action:

👉 Grab a sheet of paper. Answer these 5 questions.

👉 Not to make it look nice. To see where you stand.

👉 Tomorrow, you reread them. And you adjust just one thing. No more.

See you tomorrow for PSC 2, Critical thinking.

Have a great day,
