It's not YOU, it's not ME, it's US!

The Power of

Good Professional Network Management

Welcome to a world where success is measured not only by individual skills but by the strength of relationships woven over time. "It's not you, it's not me, it's US" highlights the power of good professional network management, demonstrating that success is often the result of collective collaboration.

The story revolves around the Development Center Ferrières, an initiative that successfully united a part of my network as well as that of my colleagues and collaborators. Since 2016, this voluntary event brings together field experts in management, leadership, coaching, human resources, and international hospitality. Over two intense days, they observe and provide feedback to future managers, experts, and leaders in international hospitality.

The key to this initiative lies in the sense and respect that endure over the years. Even after stepping down from leading the institution (Ferrières Hospitality & Luxury Management School), I continue to facilitate the Development Center Ferrières with passion. The next event will take place on January 30 and 31, and we always welcome volunteer evaluators with joy.

It's an exchange of good practices, creating a win-win-win situation.

  1. Volunteers bring their field expertise, enriching the student evaluation process. It's an opportunity for the sharing of values, thus favouring the emergence of new relationships and opportunities.
  2. Volunteers benefit from a short training in observation and feedback.
  3. Students have exceptional access to a unique experience, spending two days in groups of 6 to 8, receiving feedback from field experts.

In addition to the personal development of all stakeholders, this opens up opportunities for collaboration, internships, jobs, projects, thesis topics, and much more. Thus, an extraordinary triptych forms, giving rise to new branches of the network.

Ferrières remains the only Hospitality Management school globally to develop its programs through the positive education paradigm. The Development Center is at the heart of this philosophy, aiming to guide students to become the best version of themselves. Over two intensive days, students in the 3rd year of bachelor's, 4th year of IBBA, and 1st and 2nd year of Master's undergo individual and group assessments, evaluating and developing their leadership, impact, influence, collaboration, risk-taking, and emotional agility skills.

In conclusion, the Development Center Ferrières embodies the power of well-managed professional networks, where humility and respect are the keys to every exchange. When professionals like you and me strive to be interested rather than interesting, a complex yet solid network is woven, creating a robust fabric. The Development Center is not just an evaluation event but a platform for maintenance and amplification of these relationships.

Cherishing each interaction, listening attentively, and remaining open to learning at every step result in a network that extends beyond conventional boundaries. The humility to recognize that everyone has something unique to contribute adds to the richness of these connections. Thus, the Development Center Ferrières becomes a reflection of these principles, acting as a catalyst to nurture and amplify this network.

In this new year, I encourage you to adopt this approach in your own professional exchanges. Cultivating humility, respect, and sincere interest opens unexpected doors and transforms each interaction into an opportunity for mutual growth. May you experience a year rich in meaningful relationships, fruitful exchanges, and shared successes.
